Kwame Devours Detroit

April 15, 2008 Pandora 2 comments

I was browsing a friends webpage today and came across an article he wrote on Kwame Kilpatrick, the mayor of our lovely city Detroit.  For many years Detroit has focused on rebirthing the city, and building from the self-destruction it’s suffered over the last many years.  Since Kwame has become an elected official the upward direction the city had taken on has turned it into a joke, and unfortunately, though reasonably, fed to the already negative aversion with the city of Detroit.  With a man playing “gangsta” and “high roller” as it’s leader, how is the rest of the unknowing world supposed to react?  His reign of terror and destruction will soon come to an end, but unfortunately the citizens of Detroit are going to be left to pick up the pieces and suffer many more years of the stereotypes Kwame enforced.

Hopefully someday the rest of the country will get to see the city I see.  The heart and soul of it.  The real grit of a working class infrastructure that lives and breathes.  You might be right when you talk down about the city of Detroit, but no real Detroiter is ever going to sit back and take it lightly.  For now, I’m going to sit back and wait for the atrocity that is Kwame to be removed and hope against hope we have someone who cares about the city take his pompous place.

Take a look at Kwame’s many accomplishment over his time spent as Detroit Mayor here.

The Ark Of Truth and Continuum: Stargate Movies

Yesterday I finally got to see the new Stargate movie, The Ark Of Truth, which went directly to DVD a few weeks ago.  The next movie, Continuum, looks even bigger and better.  I enjoyed the Ark of Truth and it’s closure on the Tenth and final season of SG-1, but Continuum brings back two of the greatest conflicting Protangonists and Antagonists ever on the history of the show: General Jack O’Neill and Ba’al.  I don’t know how prevelant O’Neill’s character will be in the script, but either way I’m glad Richard Dean Anderson will be in it.  This is going to be old school SG-1 style and though I like the newer character’s and storyline, you can’t really compare one to the other.  The first five-six seasons of the show were just outstanding, end of discussion.  July isn’t so far away.  Go to Gate World to keep posted on every detail available in the Stargate Universe. I, for one, hope these moives keep getting made. Now, after seeing The Ark Of Truth, I cannot wait for July.

Here is the Premise for The Ark Of Truth: SG-1 travels to the Ori home galaxy in search of an Ancient device that could stop the Ori war once and for all. But the return of an old enemy threatens to overrun the ship before they can accomplish their mission.

Go to Gate World for Spoilers and other cool info, but honestly you should just go out and purchase or rent this one.

Here is the Premise for Continuum: After Teal’c and Vala vanish, the team realizes that the timeline has been altered and the Stargate program no longer exists. A fleet of Goa’uld motherships arrives to invade Earth, led by Baal.

There are plenty of Spoilers on Gate World in you desire finding out everything before you see the movie!

KUMTRIAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
